Who Personal Training is For

For people who want to get stronger, build muscle, lose body fat, improve their physique and feel more confident through structured, evidence-based strength training.

How We Help You Progress

Stay Consistent With Real Accountability

Get training structure, check-ins and someone keeping you on track.

We monitor your progress and adjust things as required so you don't drift off course.

Structured Progression You Can See & Feel

Your program follows a logical structure so you know exactly what you're working toward and why.

You'll see measurable improvements in strength, technique and body composition.

Train Safely Around Pain or Injuries

Pain doesn't mean you stop training. We modify exercises, manage load, and structure your program so you can progress without aggravating injuries.

Where possible we also address the root cause.

Learn Proper Lifting Technique With Confidence

We teach proper exercise technique step by step so you can lift safely and confidently.

The goal is to build the skills so you can train independently.

University Qualified & Evidence Based

Your program is built by a coach with advanced university degrees in exercise science and physiotherapy.

Every decision is grounded in biomechanics and physiology.

Nutrition You Can Actually Stick To

No extreme diets. We build a nutrition approach around your lifestyle so it is sustainable.

You'll learn how to manage your intake so your bodyweight is under your control, rather than bodyweight controlling you.

  • Bootcamp-style “just sweat” sessions
  • Hype-driven, shout-at-you training

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes SPC different from other gyms

SPC isn’t a big commercial gym where you’re just another membership number.

It’s a small, community-based strength gym. People know each other by name. You can interact directly with the owner. The vibe is relaxed, down-to-earth and supportive, more like training in your best mate’s garage than a crowded franchise gym.

It’s intentionally not overly busy, so you’re not waiting around for equipment. You can train without feeling rushed.

If you want help, it’s there. You can ask questions about training, technique, programming or nutrition. The coaches all have university degrees in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology or Physiotherapy, so the coaching is evidence-based, not a short certification course.

At the same time, if you just want to put your headphones on and train by yourself, that’s completely fine too. No pressure to socialise.

The gym is a strength training environment, but is welcoming. Experienced lifters, qualified coaches, and a space where people come to improve, not to show off.

What level of training expereince suits best for personal training?

Short answer: all levels.

Coaching is adapted to the level you’re currently at, whether you’re brand new to the gym or an experienced lifter looking to break through a plateau.

If You’re a Beginner

If you’re new, you’ll be shown exactly what you need to know.

We’ll build a structured plan suited to:

Your current fitness level

Your training experience (or lack of it)

Any injuries, pain, or limitations

Your specific goals

You’ll learn proper technique from day one, understand what you’re doing and why you’re doing it, and build confidence in the gym instead of feeling lost or guessing.

As you progress, your program is adjusted accordingly. Nothing stays static.

If You’re Intermediate or Advanced

If you’ve been training for a while but feel stuck, we assess:

What you’re currently doing

What you’ve done in the past

Your current training structure

Your goals

From there, we identify what’s actually limiting progress, whether that’s programming, recovery, technique inefficiencies, load management, or something else.

Then we adjust what needs to be adjusted.

The goal isn’t to start from scratch. It’s to refine and optimise so you can keep progressing.

Powerlifting (Beginner to Competitive)

We work with powerlifters at all stages.

If you’re new to powerlifting:

Learn proper squat, bench and deadlift technique

Follow a structured powerlifting program

Build confidence under the bar

Prepare for your first comp (if you want to compete)

If you’re more advanced:

Refine technique and bar path efficiency

Address technical breakdowns

Manage fatigue and peak properly

Work around injuries or limitations

Push for new PRs

Whether you compete or just enjoy training heavy, the approach is structured and individualised.

Bodybuilding (Recreational or Competitive)

We also coach physique-focused clients.

Whether your goal is:

Improve body composition

Build muscle more efficiently

Dial in your training split

Or prepare for competition

Programming is structured around progressive overload, recovery, and sustainable nutrition using evidenced based systems.

In Short

We coach beginners who want to feel confident in the gym.

We coach intermediate lifters who want to break through plateaus.

We coach competitive strength and physique athletes who want to optimise performance.

Your level doesn’t matter. We can help the majority of people.

What happens in the first session?

After your free consult, you can either take time to think things over or move straight into your first session, completely up to you.

The first session runs for 60 minutes and is primarily focused on teaching you the correct techniques on key exercises. Yes, you’ll still get a workout, but the priority is technique.

We’ll go through exercises relevant to your goals and teach you proper technique on these, properly. You’ll be given clear exercise cues so you know exactly what to focus on when you’re training on your own.

During the session, we’ll assess how you move, your current experience level, and any injuries or limitations. We’re essentially collecting data so we can design a program that’s specific to you.

After the session, we’ll build your personalised training plan around your goals, experience level, injuries and schedule, giving you a clear structure to follow between sessions and will be sent to you within 24-48 hours post session.

If you’re doing online coaching, the process is similar. If you already have experience with lifts, you’ll send videos and will receive detailed feedback via a recorded video uploaded privately to Youtube explaining exactly what technique points you need to work on.

If you’re an online client and new to lifting, that’s completely fine. We’ll provide clear and very detailed fundamental technique guidance videos so you know exactly what to do when you’re in the gym on your own.

From there, we fine-tune things week by week, adjusting your program, improving technique and progressing you in a structured way.

Can I still do personal training if I have a pre-existing injury?

Definitely, our training programs can be tailored based on your body condition and injuries. Building body strength and improving exercise techniques can help reduce some of the pain that you may be experiencing. In certain cases, having underdeveloped muscles or avoiding particular exercises may be contributing to the pain.

Should I lose weight or gain some muscle before starting personal training?

No, our personal training programs are created based on your current fitness level and ability. The main aim of our program is to help you progress regardless of your fitness experience. Around 50% of our clients started with little to no training experience. Our programs are designed to ensure that you will see results as long as you remain consistent.

Is there a lock-in contract for personal training?

Our 1-on-1 and online personal training are contract-free and obligation-free, meaning that you can cancel at any time with no questions asked.

How does the money back gurantee work?

If you follow your coaching plan consistently and do not make measurable progress within 12 weeks, we will refund your coaching fees for that period.

We are confident in the system. If you commit and execute, you progress. If you don’t, that’s on us.

What counts as “following the program”?

To qualify, you must complete at least 85% of:

• Scheduled sessions (in-person clients)
• Weekly check-ins (online clients)
• Prescribed training sessions
• Nutrition plan adherence

Compliance is tracked through attendance, submitted check-ins, logged training sessions, and agreed nutrition reporting.

How is progress measured?

Progress must be measurable in at least one of the following areas:

Body Composition

Before and after progress photos (front, side, and back) taken:

In the same lighting

Same time of day

Same positioning

We use visual comparison rather than body scanners due to variability and measurement inaccuracy.

Strength

Your training log must show measurable improvement in:

Load lifted

Repetitions performed

Performance progression within the structured program

Because your training is periodised, measurable strength increases should be visible over 12 weeks.

Technique

Before and after lift videos must demonstrate:

Improved movement quality

Better control and positioning

Safer and more efficient execution

Technique improvements are assessed through recorded lifts.

What happens if I qualify?

If you meet the 85% compliance requirement and show no measurable improvement in strength, physique, or technique after 12 weeks, we refund your coaching fees for that period.

How do I cancel coaching?

Easy, send us a text, call or e-mail and we can cancel straight away without needing to sign any silly forms. It takes 20 seconds to cancel someone’s debits.

Can I pause coaching for example if I'm away on holiday?

Yes. There are no pause fees either.

Does personal training include a gym membership?

For weekly face to face personal training, yes, gym membership is included in the $120.

If doing less frequent sessions such as fortnightly or monthly, the gym membership is $25 per week.

If doing weekly online coaching, gym membership is at a reduced cost of $10 per week (total $90 per week).

Can I do less frequent PT sessions or online coaching such as fortnightly or monthly?
